Hancock Co., Miss. Jun. 24, 2020 – The 2nd Annual Hancock County Parade of Homes is set for Saturday, July 18th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The parade, which is free and open to the public, will feature homes for sale throughout Hancock County.  Parade of Homes guides and maps, produced in partnership with South Mississippi Living Magazine, will be available for pickup at the Hancock County Visitors Center located at 1928 Depot Way in Bay St. Louis on July 1st.  The Visitors Center will also serve as “information central” the day of the event.  Although attendees can go directly to the homes they wish to visit, they can always start at the Visitors Center to register and pick up all the information needed to get started along the tour.

The Inaugural Parade of Homes held in 2019 exceeded expectations.  It was attended by approximately 500 people from 9 states.  All homes listed sold within a very quick timeframe, and drew people to every corner of Hancock County.  There were representatives from homebuilders, real estate and insurance brokers, title companies, and mortgage lenders who were able to provide all the information needed to sell and buy a home.  Gross sales from the event were over $12 million.  The 2020 Parade is sure to raise the bar even higher, with 39 homes on the tour valued nearly $15 million in total, and another 5 expected to be added.

The top priority of the event’s sponsors and presenters is the health and safety of event attendees.  Here are the safety measures we are taking:

      • Providing hand sanitizer at each home and asking attendees to sanitize their hands prior to entering.
      • Requesting that those who tour homes wear face masks.
      • Some homes may limit the number of people allowed inside at one time.  This depends on space and the ease at which people will be able to socially distance.

For those who cannot attend the Parade of Homes or would simply like a preview, a virtual parade will be listed at https://hancockmsmyhome.com.  All home listings, photos, an interactive Google map, and more will be available for viewing on June 29th.

In-person attendees may register onsite at one of the homes to be entered in the grand prize drawing.  Everyone registered will be entered in the drawing, and will get an extra entry for every home toured.  The grand prize is worth over $3500 and includes all kinds of items that will make the transition to a new home go smoothly.  The grand prize drawing will take place on Thursday, July 23rd at Hancock Young Professionals’ Cocktails & Connections event at Lazy Gator in Diamondhead at 5:30 p.m.
